Do you have before and after examples? Both in terms of image look and data size?

And gosh! That is a reduction in image size. I’ll be giving it a go this evening.
@rw It's about a 98% reduction, I reckon!
@rw I considered doing that, but I thought serving an 8MB file and then a 36KB file would defeat the point somewhat!
For reference, I would say that most images I post on my blog are around 600-800KB. So crunching them down to less than 50KB makes for significant savings in data transfer.
