@nop well, in the end it makes sense for the UI to be like that. StableDiffusion has so many knobs and switches that can alter the outputs in many ways and you most of the time are tweaking all of them to get a good result, so a simple website may not make too much sense after all.

@ryuichi WebUI is built on a framework called Gradio. It seems to be able to perform layout automatically without detailed settings, for example, where to place buttons.
Therefore, it is not possible to decide the design in detail, but it has the advantage of being flexible when they want to add extensions and increase the number of items on the screen.
So it may not look cool, but it may be scalable.
