Can’t believe #Apple still trashes all your playlists if you unsub from #AppleMusic

I still see too many stories of this from Apple-related subreddits. Of course, most people still—STILL—don’t run any kind of backup. Many are iPhone/iPad only, don’t have iCloud, so don’t have iCloud backups

(But you can’t pull specific items out of iCloud backups anyway, so moot point)

These playlist take a meaningless amount of storage, yeah? Shouldn’t Apple retain them? This feels like dark pattern junk

@chartier absolutely. i let my apple music lapse accidentally a few years back (card expired) and lost years of playlists — the ones i had made for my wife were an especially hard loss after the CDs i had burned them to were also destroyed.
