there was a weird bit of discourse on twitter about “what would you, a white American, do if an Indigenous group rebelled” and the two responses allowed by the narrative were “i would do a genocide” and “i would happily let myself be merked”, ignoring the one actually good response: i would be providing them with material support so long as their aims and means were truly liberatory, and opposing them in addition to the state to the extent that they were not.
hell of a false dichotomy that implicitly supports genocidal behavior either way and like 90% of Twitter leftists fell for it.
stop understanding yourself as an oppressor and start believing you can help liberate yourself and others!
you can provide material support to existing indigenous rebellions RIGHT NOW! why are you instead engaging in maliciously framed debates about how to react *as the oppressor*??
In a time of overwhelming developments in the Middle East, the public needs comprehensive coverage with diverse, experienced perspectives.
The removal of Muslim anchors during such a sensitive time is highly concerning. We must not repeat the mistakes of post-9/11 fervor.
Elon Musk has a lot of similar qualities to Donald Trump but the one I’ve found to be the most similar is how often his businesses break rules or even commit crimes with no repercussions.
Things I used to think got businesses fined massively and executives risk jail time are barely acknowledged let alone a wrist slap.
Could it be that this is how often the ultra rich get away with white collar crime and it’s just that Trump & Elon flaunt it while others wisely don’t?

Just so we are clear about the rhetorical warfare going on here.
This is the guy that made “critical race theory”into a bogey man. He’s laying out the playbook.
Don’t fall for it.
Time to pay women more.

I wrote about the often all-too-respectable urge to create safety by harming others, the spirit of lack informing that urge, and the spirit of solidarity and abundance that we might fight for if we are to find true human liberation. (By "we" I mean human beings.)
“What did you think #decolonization meant?”
Bro, did *you* think it meant terrorizing families & slaughtering kids? Bc that wasn’t on the label when you sold the package.
YOUR CAUSE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS ADVOCACY OF WELL-BEING AND ITS OPPOSITION TO SUFFERING. #israel #palestine
Phrases like “implicit bias” and “micro aggressions” may seem like DEI hokum but they actually describe the lived experience of under represented minorities all over corporate America today.
This is collective punishment and a violation of international law.
We cannot starve nearly a million children to death over the horrific actions of Hamas, whose disregard for Israeli, Palestinian, and human life overall could not be more clear.
We must draw a line.
I am a life-long supporter of the Palestinian search for freedom and statehood , but this morning am feeling only utter revulsion, horror and depression at the press descriptions of yet more innocents massacred. No one, least of all children, should ever have to endure violence and fear, and the kind of atrocity carried out by Hamas is only going to intensify the ongoing oppression, dispossession and occupation, as well as provoking retaliatory waves of bombings and killings which are already leading to the deaths of countless more innocent children. Hamas has not only committed a barbaric outrage with its abominable ISIS-like tactics, I fear it has also done incalculable and lasting damage to the just cause of their own people, entrenched the hawks and haters and ethnic cleansers, and made the search for peace, justice and freedom more difficult than ever.
Leaving Twitter. And thriving. A true story 🐦👋🏼
“as a platform becomes less reliable — either editorially or technically — staying becomes more fraught. And as NPR has demonstrated, you may not be giving up all that much if you walk away.”

“Israel did not ask America to de-escalate on Sept. 12, 2001”
Here’s the thing: America totally should have de-escalated after 9/11. Calamity multiplied when we did not. All our allies, including Israel, should have told us to de-escalate. Neither engaging in nor cheering for fight-or-flight reaction has anything to do with leadership. #israel #hamas #hamasattack

@carnage4life There must be studies out there on what actually happens if management takes the terrifying step of letting customers / the market know they’re getting less than previously thought, or getting it later. Fear of doing that is absolutely crippling organizationally, but is that fear warranted?
