I wonder if joining #mastodon would be easier for new people if we called the servers “community hubs” instead of “instances”. 🤔 people get confused (and intimidated!) by the technical language; and really, federation boils down to being community hubs anyway.

Early Mastodon "toots" have felt kind of inane, but then just downloaded my Twitter archive and the early tweets from 2007/2008 are much much more inane.

@benjaminhollon why the hostility towards lurkers though? They're a net positive, and kinda crucial for any fledgling social network to succeed anyway

@brss like how Local is a chronological feed of this server. Can I have a combined chronological feed of a few different servers I'm interested in?
Is there a way to create a local feed that combines many different servers I'm interested in? I use Tootle but willing to switch to any other app that supports it
