Reminds me of when Tutanota knowingly and deliberately spread misleading information about Signal Messenger a few weeks ago to promote their own product.

you're mainly right, but you are exaggerating here imo. It's clearly not meant to undermine signal, as the article is not about signal at all. The article is merely introduced with this (out of context) quote to create a contrast to tutanotas standpoint. You can definitely criticize that the article was not adjusted and the newer post you linked contained similar sentences after signal had already cleared it up, but in the end, every video, article, etc. does this to an extend
