@tomw if $coolness <= 10, COOL_MODE never gets initialized?
@alexpsmith a lot of us use a microwave to prepare tea... and this apparently drives the rest of the tea drinking world crazy.
Amazing article:
“The reason websites continue to load, bank transfers go through, and civilization persists is because of the thousand or so people living aboard 20-some ships stationed around the world, who race to fix each cable as soon as it breaks”

Happy Ēostre Day
The Norse goddess of the dawn, spring, and rebirth. Ēostre saved a bird with frozen wings from the winter cold, but the bird could no longer fly. So she changed the bird into a rabbit, and since the rabbit used to be a bird, it could lay eggs.
Or, you know, a day a guy died where the date changes every year…as historic events tend to do.
@nixCraft fact check: confirmed

Time passing makes terrible ideas attractive again. Nazism has gone from being abhorrent to taboo to being provocative over 80 years.
I expect collectivism to be next. Instead of corporations exploiting workers just embrace communist practices and everyone farms, cooks, etc.
The punchline is that millions of people died in every country that tried this yet I can see leftists online getting closer to these ideas every day.
Grumpy old man. Interests: Software development, football, hockey, science, history, food... not necessarily in that order.
