I’m currently reading “Don Quixote” by Miguel de Cervantes, translated by Edith Grossman. I’m a little over 25% through, and I must admit I’m finding it a little slow going. #amreading#donquixote
@murraybymoonlight Hi, do you think it is intentional by the author? Perhaps it reflects the main characters personality and is appropriate to the country side context.
@sgul I definitely should read up on Miguel de Cervantes, and the background to the writing of Don Quixote. I don’t know enough to comment on whether DQ was stylistically representative of fiction of the early 17th century — although I have read several times that it is considered by some to be the first modern novel, so perhaps it represented a break with the traditions of fiction at the time?
