There has been a huge influx of Indian users and numbers are continuously increasing. Subsequently, it is also giving rise to the plethora of political posts. My question is, won't this platform turn into another Birdsite in this way? And if not, then why or how not?
@shibaprasad Politics is going to be discussed anywhere that isn't heavily moderated, to at least some extent, because it's something that impacts a lot of lives.
The fediverse will avoid being like the popular comparison by virtue of not being a single, rubbish piece of software, and not being centrally moderated.
@Zergling_man I am not against discussing Political posts per se. You can't stay 'apolitical' in this world. Politics is a part of our lives, whether we like it or not.
I was just being more concerned whether the useless trolls will takeover this platform too.
@shibaprasad Oh, that happened ages ago. Then their instances got blocked. So now I read instance block lists to find lawless places to shitpost.
