It appears that the latest update to the Google News app on Android now ignores browser preference and always launches Chrome.
Seems like a dumb move since Google is under close scrutiny, along with Apple. Are they trying to catch a $10 billion fine from the EU or what?
@shuttersparks ummm.. the last update on my pixel 7 was Feb 29. Says up to date . When I click View Original web page it opens articles in Firefox
@PizzaDemon Mine doesn't. I hadn't seen Chrome launch in five years until now when I click on an article in Google News. Everything else still goes to Firefox as always. I dunno, but I'm not surprised.
Chrome wouldn't even be installed if I could uninstall it, but I can't. Hahaha.
@shuttersparks these corporations really don't understand the idea that they're not allowed to be as blatantly anticompetitve as they've been until now. Like the law is finally slowly catching up to all the tech and they should lay low to not make things worse for themselves
