When running from a giant explosion fireball inside a tunnel, I always prefer keeping my attention directly ahead of me and hauling all ass instead of looking over my shoulder again and again to see how far I am from the giant explosion fireball. But hey, that's just me.

I pretty much knew Dizzy was going to buy the farm the moment they had sex … because that’s a trope. I mean, it fails the Bechtel test miserably.
@GayDeceiver I thought of you earlier when I was pondering my past Heinlein reading! 😁 There is so much about his work that I thoroughly dislike these days. And yet, there's this movie -- the satire might not have been what he intended, but the seeds were in the book. And still have such a soft spot in my heart for Podkayne! 💙
Yeah, the Woman Gets Punished For Having Sex trope jumped out at me immediately--been discussing it elsewhere in-thread. The subtle, subversive sarcasm...GAH. EXQUISITE.
@courtcan @GayDeceiver Poddy, yes, great book. You know the publisher made him change the end of the book. In the original ending, she dies. Heinlein was never happy about that.
@courtcan @GayDeceiver Neither have I. RAH wrote about it in his autobiographical tell-all book, to be published after his death.
