This zamak shaft snapped, and it's the core of a $200 switch on a $4000 ceramic kiln of a friend's. I've drilled it down the center and cut a steel key to hold it in alignment while I finish the drilling through the second section. Then I can tap the end and put in a steel shoulder screw. Making that is going to help a hassle. 2-56 is fussy.
