"Officials at a North Texas school named after a Black man who learned to read and write when he was 98 years old has ruled that a portion of his memoir describing his best friend getting lynched is not appropriate for some students."

This is just next level hypocrisy.

@RickiTarr I have two friends alive today who, as school children, witnessed lynchings. One walked past a body hanging at the end of a rope on his way to school.

So all that's okay, but reading about it is not?

@shuttersparks @RickiTarr He was white but they curb stomped one of my comrades back in the day and by that I mean like 2011.....
People talk about this stuff like it's over. It is not.

@B_Whitewind @RickiTarr No, it's not over. And a new generation of bigots and racists is being raised right now, as we speak.
