@StillIRise1963 Yes, obviously that's part of it. When I lived in Florida I was shocked at the racism I saw. But here in West Virginia, I see virtually no racism amongst the white people I associate with. There's intermarriage, my roommate is black, my coworkers are a mixed bag. Nobody seems to care about race. Here, these white folks absolutely adore Trump. "He's like me." "He speaks for me." And he's "not a damned libbural." They hate "crooked Biden" with a fiery passion. These people are politically brainwashed by watching nothing but Fox News. Every home, every barber shop, every bar, it's Fox News. If you throw facts at them their face goes blank and they start yawning. It's a cult with millions of members.

Anyway, I'm not disagreeing with you. There's just more to the equation than racism alone.

@3dogcouch @StillIRise1963 Shockingly gullible, for sure.

Your comment made me chuckle. Living amongst West Virginians I've noticed a common thread. Most every West Virginian I know thinks they're better than everyone else, including their kids and siblings. It's the "me-supremacy" culture.

You don't have to be racist to vote for trump. You just have to be stupid. And most people are.

Racists vote for him because they think he's a racist. Libertarians vote for him because they think he's a libertarian. Working class votes for him because they heard from someone he's good for economy. And far left don't vote at all because they think Kamala drinks blood of innocent palestinian babies or something.

People are stupid.

For trump being unhinged asshole is not bug, it's a feature. Even if he fucks a dog on camera - his voters will still justify him. That's how it works. Because of trump's mixed messages people start to construct their own wishful ideas about who he is. Just create "anti-establishment" vibes, sow cynicism, combine with massive targeted smearing campaign, ask russian bots for help, and be as vague as possible - people will brainwash themselves for you.

@juliehuz @3dogcouch @shuttersparks @StillIRise1963

I guess most of his voters are not "ok" with racism, they just actively lie to themselves that "it's not what he meant", "he speaks with hyperbolas" all that bullshit. They sanewashing him in their heads. Because they're just emotionally like him. That's how propaganda works - it speaks to emotions.

@juliehuz @3dogcouch @shuttersparks @StillIRise1963

Another step in their mental gymnastics is "Oh, but he's not ACTUALLY racist, it's just a game, it's just a rhetoric, you know, it's politics". And they are kinda right, it IS just a play for him, but it doesn't make it better. A politician who "pretends" to be a fascist IS effectively fascist. Because that's exactly how modern fascism works. But no one has sat with these people and carefully patiently explained that to them.

@bjeelka @3dogcouch @shuttersparks @StillIRise1963

Well at least the Palestine one won't be an issue by 2028. They'll have been erased along with Ukraine and probably Taiwan and maybe even South Korea. Trump will sell out every last one of them.
