Immersion 48 hours in “my music” since getting old stereo going. I’ve now got my old cassettes together and the CD’s/DVD’s bought over the years. This morning Amboy Dukes started then 8 hours later I put on The Lost Highway soundtrack. We 3 are enjoying the tunes when my son 28 years younger than I said “Hey wait, isn’t that my CD?” Startling we each independently had same CD—funnier still when he said what I was thinking “The music is a lot better than the movie!”

@cobalt Jethro Tull, flutist, big hit was "Living In The Past". Carlos Santana is a friggin' legend. And I recognize Melissa Etheridge...and Traffic rings a bell but that's about it.

I just now looked up those other two names and I'm not surprised that I'm not familiar with a Brit jazz singer, but Leo Kottke should have crossed my notice since he's a strings man good enough to play at the Santa Fe Lensic theater. I rather fancy similar people such as Les Paul, Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed--so I'm gonna hafta look into that guy.

@cobalt ...further...Traffic apparently didn't last long because of a dispute over the name, but one of the founding members came from the Spencer Davis Group, and THAT one I know. I just read up on Traffic, and there's a surname that's invariably tied to music, and that's Capaldi. Well well well.

@claralistensprechen3rd Winwood and Capaldi were a killer pair! Jim Capaldi is spectacular.
