Friendly reminder, as both Republicans and the Trump campaign try to weasel out of this: Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe was reading from a teleprompter. His “joke” about Puerto Rico plus all other racist remarks were vetted, approved & uploaded by Trump’s team in advance. In. Advance.

Immigrants are 80% more likely to start a business than U.S.-born citizens.

They're not “taking jobs.”

They're creating them.

@Free_Press He's referring to his immigrant, draft dodging, whorehouse-operating grandfather.

Quintex.com says they do data recovery. Says they do penetration testing, which I can vouch for. My sites are under near constant attack from this domain. But I didn't hire them to do penetration testing or anything else. Strange.

@jakedonham Not much effort. It's steel tubing. An ordinary hacksaw can make that cut in well under 30 seconds.

This is outrageous. For several years I ran a certified corporate and legal transcription service. We also did medical, psych, law-enforcement work.

All transcription work is "high risk". You never know where a transcript ends up, like a court of law. Mistakes, guesses, creativity have no place in that business.

🤬 Russians directed a kamikaze drone at girls playing on the playground in Nikopol, - National Police

12 and 13-year-old children noticed a drone over the playground, ran away and fell to the ground. The children were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.

Alaska's education commissioner drafted a proposal banning students from using cellphones at school, citing multiple studies linking cellphone distractions to poor academic achievement. The state Board of Education voted to approve the ban.

Just one problem: most of the studies cited in the policy don't exist; they were hallucinated by bullshit-generator machines ("AI"). This crap is now guiding public policy!

What’s worrying is that the analysis seems to show that a good chunk of the hallucinations, 40%, are outright harmful. That basically means that 1 out of roughly every 200 sentences transcribed contains a harmful fabrication.

Together, this would mean that if this tech is rolled out widely in sensitive industries such as healthcare, even with some safeguard, it would be very likely to result in the serious harm or even death for a non-trivial number of people.

This would be, y'know... bad.

🚨WA & OR drop-off ballot boxes set on fire, unknown number of ballots destroyed—MSNBC

@jakedonham Hmm. That's an odd looking break. Looks like it was cut or mostly cut with a hacksaw so that it would break. Sabotage?

@CompassionNow@mastodon.social Yes, but Kuhn was not the richest man in the world, able to buy anything and anyone he wishes with absurd amounts of money.

@wdlindsy Indeed. Hitler and Goebbels had a lot of laughs cooking up their plans.

@Free_Press Trump is a weak man, perpetually afraid. Of course he want's the military to push his agenda by force.

@Free_Press Yup. Been working 12 hour shifts since Wednesday, before early voting began. Now waiting for effing Monday to come so I can go vote.

Not that it will make any difference, but it's my "protest vote". I live in pure red West Virginia, where poor people vote for Donald Trump. Bahahaha. Go figure that out.
