I really try not to post things from the old hellsite. But this is too good.

Been too busy to post while attending my niece’s four-day Indian wedding in Texas. A whirlwind of amazing events, and an incredible gift to be welcomed into another culture and enjoy each part of the wedding experience. My mind is blown!

LA County just agreed to pay a reporter $700k after she was slammed to the ground and arrested by LASD while covering a protest -- making this likely the largest payout to a reporter in connection with covering a 2020 protest so far.

What's wild is that the county apparently had such a weak case they agreed to settle before a suit was formally filed. latimes.com/california/story/2

ICYMI, I covered a new anti-surveillance bill in Congress yesterday: "The GSRA is a Christmas list for privacy hawks and a nightmare for authorities who rely on secrecy and circumventing judicial review to gather data on Americans without their knowledge or consent."

The Republicans claim Democrats want to defund the police. It’s not true, but what is true is this: Republicans want to defund the IRS, which is the revenue police. Enforcement agents are needed to catch wealthy tax cheats, of which Republican donors make up a large share. So when you hear about defunding the police, remember what Republicans are trying to pull off.

Here you go. How dare people, especially young people, vote, says the GOP.

“You put very sexy things like abortion and marijuana on the ballot, and a lot of young people come out and vote...pure democracies are not the way to run a country,” Santorum said.

I was shocked to see how many musicians lived lives of poverty; never seeung a dime of residuals for the continuing popularity of their music.

They'd been forced to sell their catalogs for pennies to pay "debts" to a music company. Cheated in contract negotiations.

Stumbled across an old ABC TV 1966 Fall Preview package on #YouTube with a bass line score that was a damned earworm at the time, and yeah it still is.

“Voters told the Mississippi Free Press earlier today that the McLeod Elementary polling place ran out of ballots as early as 8:30 a.m.; voting began at 7 a.m. and lasts until 7 p.m.”

‘Oh, no! We accidentally forgot to print ballots in… certain areas! How could this be? I hope it doesn’t affect the Black vote in any way, seeing as this is the most populous Black area in the entire state, golly gee’

Every reporter in America should stop what they're doing, read, and absorb the importance of what Will Bunch says here. We are one election away from a fascist state ruled by a career mobster with a sadistic craving for revenge. That's what's at stake in 2024! inquirer.com/opinion/commentar
