Can I get some unbiased news source recommendations? I'm down to Reuters as my only source. I'm not conservative or liberal, I'm more or less indifferent to societies causes. But I like to stay informed without having some bold headline trying to trigger emotions instead of informing me on current events.

@khadija They are heavily focused on politics and that's fine, and their opinion pieces lean left. That's fine too, that's why it's called an opinion piece. Where I'm concerned is in the lack of citation on event reporting. That makes me a bit cautious too. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. 99% of all mass media reports COVID statistics from Johns Hopkins Medical university. That's a big name, a name people can trust, yet if you get hit by a bus and die but you're COVID positive, that's counted as a COVID death. There's always going to be flaws in information, I get that. But that's alleviated by aggregation of information from many sources, and providing sources for the data. That's real journalism. I would say if you work in politics that TNR is a decent way of understanding a bit more of what's changing politically. At my level of work, I understand that political news is irrelevant, because if I don't like something, I know voting will only contribute a microscopic influence. But I have a different tool, I can call my clients, illustrate the problem, they call their lobbyists into a their next board meeting, they intern shift the financial backing for the projects that are supporting my problem. And in a years time, the structures have changed and maybe the problem is still there but people will get out of my way. I don't see much on TNR that gives me concrete data enough to change my vote, or email some people who hold sway.

On a side note, the newspaper I just wrote you, and sorry for that 😶 should also illustrate a larger problem. My vote is equal, but my connections are ridiculously more powerful than my vote. That means what appears to be a democracy really isn't. Look, I know enough to know that I'm not the good guy in our global situation, I'm not the villain either though. I just try to keep a bubble around my enterprise that's fair. And it keeps getting harder and harder to discern the right path to keep it stable. Oh by the way, if you like the TNR and want to make real changes.. I'll share my recipe, save your money for a while, buy yourself a ticket to the metgala or the redcrossgala, or a mixer related to weapons or energy. Go talk to everybody, they're all senators, congressman, celebrities, fortune500 CEOs. Tell em all what you're up to, a few will be fascinated and give you their contact info. Most won't. Sure the ticket will cost more than a vacation through Europe. But taking a vacation in Europe won't further yourself in life, or help you shape the world more the way you want it. I know, sounds crazy, and it makes me seem like one of the villains out there. It's sorta how it works. Sorta how it always has probably.
