Lumber is up 400%.
Gasoline is up 130%.
National debt is at $28.1 trillion. The 2nd largest jump in American history behind WWII.
National inflation is up 4.2%.
Buckle up... it’s going to get worse.

@Secftblgirl One wonders what the Democrat leadership really believes their base will think about the social and financial destruction they are so cheerfully raining down upon them.

Black parents are not going to believe the teacher being tied up with ESL students is a problem of "white supremacy"; they'll do what they did long ago in Dallas: flee the entire district for one of their own (southern suburb DeSoto).

Same with gas prices; same with other consumer goods inflation.

Those who survive may witness the most vicious Democrat own goal in at least a generation.

Those who survive.
@iskandrian yeah, I don't know. They voted for this bullshit. Now they're gonna get it, good and hard. Along with the rest of us
@Secftblgirl I'm old enough to remember when "cost of living" (counter-inflation) increases were routinely factored into people's periodic wage raises.

The Biden "antiraise" for Q1 2021 is something like, what, 2+%, meaning, if your boss gave you a 3% raise, you really only netted 1%; inflation ate the other 2%, nom, nom. If he only gave you 2, you netted nothing. All gone before you ever saw it.

And supposedly that trend will be compounding over the coming months.

Be interesting to see what the locals here on FSE report. Will their employers try to pretend there is no inflation to be accounted for in order to save payroll costs?

@11112011 @Secftblgirl Blitz, in what frantic, crack-crazed bug hunt through your nether regions did you take the wrong turn to the misapprehension that I answer to you?

Besides, if you truly feel you must give the United States of America advice, you must permanently emigrate forthwith and take up your true calling on our shores as an economic op-ed columnist, ideally on some equally sunny spot on our Atlantic coast, if not down in Key West where you would blend in seamlessly.

To protect your family from unnecessary shame, you can don a nom de plume, as David Goldman did previously at the Asia Times when writing as 'Spengler'. In honor of the gentle Portuguese panty-removing elixirs of my youth, you will be known in your new vocation only as Rosé.

Your first column is due Monday, and, again, preferably not in Abraham-Franckish Belter-pidgin.
