Yeah, like a few others I was saying otherkin is the next shoe to drop. Being from the game industry had to work with a lot of them over the years. As long as they don't mention it to me whatever... but having it hit schools is "rough rough rough". Sorry it's good to laugh in the face of horror.

@thendrix the litterboxes and kids being "encouraged to identify" as cats anddogs

100% did not happen. would swear on the bible (am a baptized catholic) and bet every single cent of my current and future net worth that such a thing did not happen how "angry parents" described it

@vriska The article just presents the story, so you're alluding to a claim that was not made.
@vriska I think you're working yourself up here for nothing. A claim can be made by anyone, but doesn't reflect editoral bias or points of fact in a story. Jussie Smoothie` claimed to be attacked by "MAGA folks", but that was a lie. You need to separate a story from a conclusion.

@thendrix and i'm promising you that there is a zero percent chance that what the mom is positing ever happened

believing stories like this SHOULD be above most rational fedi users. This is 60 year old white woman on facebook who spells moron with an A tier

@thendrix my conclusion is that there is no story because the claim is false, just like lying conman jesse

@vriska OK, but it should be investigated. That's why sharing articles like this is important. I don't know how many news stories were dismissed and judged early that were wrong. For example when ABC dismissed the Epstein story as it would hurt their relationship with politicians to "oh that's a conspiracy theory".

In that regard you shouldn't jump to conclusions too soon.

@thendrix it should be investigated sure, before it's reported on

also, bri'ish "journalism" is horrific even by journalism standards, the article is filled with allusions both in language used and story presentation that the editor believes the claim

@thendrix it is just as lazy and irresponsible as neolib networks that lie about covid numbers

Follow

@thendrix @vriska daily mail is a fucking rag, in recent years it's also been the only paper to report on well-documented "politically incorrect" incidents.

@skells @vriska They throw a lot of copy at stories, which is better than the NYT that's just off the cuff opinions. Not much outside of indies these days really do much. Again my point is better to be aware and ask questions early.

There no paper on earth worse than nyt

Soviet state media was less bias
