I think I'd like to gain more self-confidence, but I'm not sure what ways I'm going to do this.

I do remember not too long ago, that I ended up passing some people and said hello. They replied. It felt surprisingly good.

@sim hard to beat physical fitness as a baseline, particularly lifting heavy

@sim not enough on its own but it makes it easier to take next steps

@skells So, you'd recommend exercise to get into shape for confidence in yourself?

@sim absolutely

it's more than just being in shape, there are hormonal changes which just make you feel better in your own skin

@skells I hadn't thought about the hormonal changes involved in it. That's a good point. That could really help you feel better in your own skin. Just like eating well can, at the very least not make you feel worse.

@skells Interesting. Makes me wonder what sort of exercise gladiators would have done. Or just men in the ancient world.

@sim unlikely they would have been chatting about it over fedi

@skells Well, they would have had their own forums to discuss it with each other, either talking to each other in person in small groups or perhaps writing it down if it is a philosophy.

@sim I know, just giving you a nudge

was sat on my arse last time, had to go out and eat some of my own cooking, so to speak

@skells Touche. They would have been taking actions, although I wonder if they would have learned a program when they were young and followed that instead.
