It's funny. I am not against farmers using less chemical fertilizer, but governments incentivized specific farming practices for years which have damaged much of the soil. Government now trying to impose restrictions on the thing they've helped people become dependent on is really not the solution. People voluntarily altering their own farming practices and focusing on soil health is.
They (gubment) created this mess, but they can't fix it. We need to. The funny thing is everything was CO2 up until Russia invaded Ukraine and now immediately the climate crisis demands less chemical fertilizer.
