Yes. Absolutely.

It does no good to pretend atomic bombs dont exist, but you can choose how you live with the knowledge that they exist.

> In one way we think a great deal too much of the atomic bomb. ‘How are we to live in an atomic age?’ I am tempted to reply: Why, as you would have lived in the sixteenth century when the plague visited London almost every year, or as you would have lived in a Viking age when raiders from Scandinavia might land and cut your throat any night; or indeed, as you are already living in an age of cancer, an age of syphilis, an age of paralysis, an age of air raids, an age of railway accidents, an age of motor accidents.’

> This is the first point to be made: and the first action to be taken is to pull ourselves together. If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds.

My dude, I dont know if you’ve noticed, but we’re having this conversation from the fediverse, because you’re not even allowed to have it on the mainstream platforms.

Yeah it's my political bias

You think anyone who disagrees with you is a conservative and only thinking politically. There are people who dont fit in the neat boxes you have formed around political issues and even if an issue is popular due to politics that doesn't mean everyone who has an opinion on it only holds an opinion because of their political affiliations.

I actually have concern that the affirmation of delusions is not good for the mental health of those who are told everything else is the problem. Transitioning doesn't bring most the happiness they thought it would, and I'm willing to bet the disphoria they experience is influenced by complex issues they should be given the opportunity to work through. More this is leaking into schools and it seems inevitable that parents will lose rights over kids following the herd. You can say it's smoke but where there is smoke there is almost always fire not far behind.

"Progress"

Wtf is that even supposed to mean. You think what we see is a natural profession? I see it more like a forced conversion.

I do think there is some value in telling people to worry less and enjoy the real world a bit more but to pretend the issues we face are simply not real because they are more abstract is dodo behavior
