A stupid long post.
Today the local [Residents' committee](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Residents%27_committee) installed a door sensor at my house because my family was considered close contacts.
And thanks to smartphones' built-in Hall sensor, it looks like it's magnetic controlled. Very likely to be a Hall sensor too, since a randomly positioned magnet didn't work. And the only magnet I have is a fusiform-shaped one. I think I should position it in a certain way to bypass/spoof the device.
While I'm trying to figure out the polarity by spinning a magnet on top of the water and see which side points to the geo north, I suddenly realized, I'm not a caveman, my phone can do this!
After figuring out which side will give a correct reading (x,y,z things and positive/negative readings are so confusing), it takes me no effort to spoof the IoT device, so they (possibly the government? I don't know) would never know when I open the door, as long as I want. (Technically speaking, I was not allowed to leave my temporary property, which is larger than my house and physically containing it. But due to some reason, they decide to install the device on the door that does not physically separate my personal space from the public area. Shortly speaking, I can open the door multiple times and annoy the person who monitors the device, as long as I don't leave the area and make physical contact with other people.)
Is that a good thing? No. But it's a bad thing? Yes, but not very confident. Although it might be illegal to spoof a device like that, but I'm pretty sure I won't be arrested (I mean, I'm 99% sure, I'm still betting on that 1% chance). And like hypixel skyblock, I spend a lot of time building semi-afk farms to get in-game coins. I have several theories that the watchdog won't catch me if I use the auto farming mod in a certain way, but that's fully automated and introduce unfair advantages. I won't use them because it's unfair. However, with that semi-afk farm, all I need to do is press the left button, and press W or A key based on my direction, and the game's mechanism will kick in and do the job. That's legal in Hypixel.
Then I can extend that operation (breaking the rules from here), like having hardware/software hold the key for me, while I tell it when to switch the key. That certainly breaks the rule since Minecraft itself won't press a key for you. But I think it's acceptable. You may see the line become ambiguous. Using software to auto-farm is unfair, but using software help me hold the key is acceptable. And back to the IoT device on my door: spoof it is not good, but also not very bad. I didn't leave my private area and didn't put others in danger. I'm ok with that.
That's what I want to say. There are no perfect rules/SOPs.Not in games, and not in real life. You need to give people a certain amount of freedom even if it's not a good thing, as long as it's not a bad thing.
So, I would ask you to accept the imperfections of our world, and stop asking for utopia/active moderation/whatever rules you think to protect people.
