Start finding flies and mosquitoes in my yard, which I'm sure is caused by those wild cats pooping everywhere.

Bought Deltamethrin (from Bayer, 25g/L) and Cypermethrin (from BASF, 100g/L).

Bayer said it should be used indoor, but it looks like the chemical itself is stable enough under sunlight. BASF said you can use it anywhere you want.

Besides, I also looked up and got a conclusion that both chemicals are not danger or harm to birds. For cats, they are toxic, so I'll kick out the cats before I use them and hope they don't come back and lick the floor.

But consider I'm not in major of chemical stuff and didn't go that deep into the details (just read what Google offers to me). So just want to ask if I'm right. Although I don't like those wild cats invading my yard, still don't want to poison them. Also the bird, I want to be safe to them.

One source I read about Cypermethrin said this chemical will paralyse birds, but other source said it's generally non-toxic to birds. So I need to check it before I use it.

@skyblond@qoto.org Iirc, mosquitoes need small puddles of water to lay eggs in. Flies, on the other hand, would thrive nicely on poop. Can't you rake the yard and clean up the terrain? Why do those cats keep coming to your area?

@trinsec It's pretty hard to explain in plain text so I drew two pictures.

The first one shows the geolocation of my house, where it is next to a large chunk of wasteland (I picked that name, currently wasting there, nobody is using it), there are a lot of animals.

Then the second one shows the structure of my house, which unlike American houses, ours got the "yard" in the middle. And it's not only the yard, but also where we place sundries and bikes. There is a tree, so I call it yard. At there we feed the cats we know (two of them, they are wild cats, but they don't run when we touch them, so my parents take them to the vet and apply the treatment). We do only serve cat food when we are awake, but there is a water faucet, and apparently the cat knows how to use it. Especially in the winter we have to keep a small current so it won't become solid ice. That become the water source for our cats and wild cats.

And there is a 2nd floor which we rarely use. And that's the small puddle of water that exists after rain. And sometimes cats poop there. I do periodically clean the poop, but I don't do it daily.

Maybe it's not mosquitoes? They look thin and don't look like flies, but they do take off from cat poops. Anyway, no matter what they are, I need to extinct them.
