This is so good! So wonderful! I'm so moved.

How can there be such a captivating story? I really love the characters. Every time I read a book like this, I can't help but feel two emotions: a deep, irresistible love for it, and a sense of regret that it's all gone now. Books can be reread, like movies; perhaps each time you read them, you'll gain new insights. But only the first time will you experience that initial feeling of being a newcomer, gradually becoming engrossed, and finally, realizing how it all made sense.

This book is so well-written; I want to be buried with it when I die.

This is the 9th volume of Spice and Wolf. The novel is great. The anime is also great. Oh god, I can die with them. They are so good.

Jdk11 is working on kindle pw6 with firmware 5.17.1.0.4. And I just checked with other people in the discord, new firmware pike 5.18.4 also use old glibc. So I guess jdk11 is what I got now.

This device can't even run browser properly, so hopefully I can write something to call api and display me some info. Maybe in that case go is better than Java?

Tried jvm on kindle. Jdk17 isn't working, it requires glibc 2.27, while the kindle os only have 2.18. However, jdk11 works, at least it prints the version.

Haven't tried any jar yet.

I think this is pretty much my first time getting my hands on an e-ink device.

The e ink screen is decent under normal room light. The texture of the screen is very different from my smartphone or my tablet. And I like it. In case you don't know, I still prefer physical books because I love the weight of the book, the feel of the paper, and the smell of the ink. I read ebooks solely because I have to move several times in the rest of my foreseeable life, and I love books, so I don't want to damage them. If I own a house, I'll quickly fill it with books.

Anyway, this screen reminds me of the feel of physical books, and I liked this e ink screen when I was under room light. But guess what? Under the sunlight, I LOVE it. Amazon makes such good hardware that I didn't regret making this purchase. Even compared with Samsung or Apple's flagship screen/display, for reading, Kindle is the best. Period.

But of course, their software sucks. That's why we need jailbreak to fix it. After playing around with koreader, I think I'll stop reading on my phone even though it was a good experience. Now I have a better device for reading.

In terms of bird photography, it's a fruitful trip. But at the end of the trip, I can't even hold my lens steady because breathing is so hard at 3500m above sea level while also getting a fever and cough.

People say nikkor 180-600mm is not the sharpest, but this one has already impressed me enough. Can't imagine how sharp the nikkor 800mm f6.3 S line lens will be. (Well, that's a really expensive lens, probably not gonna buy it in my entire life, unless I have the opportunity to earn like half a million per month)

Well, chickens are also birds, so that's bird-watching for today.

Oh god I love the protocol design of Meshtastic. I can control the device using Java via serial port (on Linux only).

Now I can receive and send messages.

Bought a sennheiser MKE600 microphone, for its price, I'm planning:

1. record video with it so I can capture the birds singing.
2. use it on my work machine so I can join meetings on my nuc.

For the second purpose, I need a P48 power supply. I searched aliexpress, but all of them require AC18V input, while P48 output DC48V. Not sure why.

Looks like 48GB RAM is not enough for 60+ chrome tabs, 18 docker services, and 6 electron based applications.

I love telephoto lens!

P2 is White-browed Wagtail, according to the handbook, it is a rare species in Yunnan. Normally they live in the Indian subcontinent, but I found them in the park! At the edge of the city!

Nikkor Z 180-600mm with, emmm, z 50II

Maybe z50II is not as good as z8 or z9, but then lens is definitely a good one! It's sharp even with a bunch of noise from this 8 years old cmos.

Now I'll wait for a good sunny weekend and shoot some bird 😋
