Step 0 - get a great idea
Step 1 - spend many hours finding the perfect domain
Step 2 - register domain
Step 3 - go to sleep
Step 4 - init new git repo and start committing code
Step 5 - over a few weeks, begin losing interest in the project
Step 6 - year passed. Domain expired
Step 7 - go to step # 0

Wow.
Somehow, visualization is the most fascinating tech to me. Of course, sounds and other things are fantastic, but it all takes time to feel. For example, the sound, you have to listen to it second by second. Any fast-forwarding will result in an abnormal feeling (and we called it "distortion"). In contrast, images are just lying in front of you, and you can watch the whole film by seeing all frames (assuming it's a physical film, not something digital).
And by converting sounds and other info into images, we humans might not able to read it (you can't read a QR code by just staring at it, right? Right?), it's kind of abstract to us. But it is also concrete enough that allows us to roughly understand what's going on there. Just looking those digital dolby sound encoding in the film, it's not the changes in air pressure (something we called sound), it is the SOUND.
* Maybe, I mean maybe, because I don't know how to properly write frontend things and do data visualization, so I feel it's super cool to me. LOL

the sad reality of open source software development
In short: folks love the amazing decentralised encrypted comms utopia of Matrix. But organisations also love that they can use it without having to pay anyone to develop or maintain it. This is completely unsustainable, and Element is now literally unable to fund the entirety of the Matrix Foundation on behalf of everyone else - and has had to lay off some of the folks working on the core team as a result.

A quick update for myself.
It has been 2 weeks, and all I am left with is the cough. It's much better than several days ago (when I almost coughed my soul out). Now it's like 2 or 3 coughs per hour, and it doesn't hurt anymore.
Another symptom is sleepiness. My friend said it's a new symptom after he got covid. But for me, it has been a year, since I sleep at 2 am and wake up at 11 am. I really need to sleep early, right?

I use LastPass, but yesterday I decide to move to bitwarden. Not self-hosting. (I know what Im doing so I don't trust my self, LOL)

I'm a Chinese shitizen, but I generally don't post in Chinese to avoid being suffering from other Chinese.
I'm physically a male, but I don't care how people think about my gender. I can be male, or female, or cat. But if you ask, I'd prefer to be referred to as male. Also, I support LGBT+ people, and I'm a copyleft. I don't think I'm too aggressive in arguing things, but sometimes I do. You should handle it with care.
I post about programming (most time is Java and Kotlin, unless I have a new love), and some random things I find interesting. I also post about my mental health, which is in a stable state of instability, thanks to my parents and Chinese society.
Anyway, if you want to follow me, I'm glad to see you. And, have a nice day.
