That list is great but it will never happen, Linus is high on his
western supremacy complex.
Most of the anger (including mine) comes from people who have just
realized what kind of a person Linus is.
He has exposed his lack of morals and inability of self reflection
with the trolls comment.
He has exposed his ignorance, coming from his state media
brainwashing, with the media comment.
He has exposed his ignorance, arrogance and blatant Russophobia with
his "I'm Finish" comment, as if
Finland has any high moral ground when it comes to WWII (for the
historically ignorant: Finnish "concentration camps").
And this is not over, there are plenty of other countries and entities
on the official USA enemies list.
The real majority of the world, all of us outside the USA and their
vassal states, their so called "free world" (one maintainer
actually used that blatant display of American supremacy in a commit
removing Huawei maintainers) are looking at this
with sadness and anger.
The Cold War 2.0 has came to the Linux world and as in the first one,
the Iron curtain has been erected
by those that claim moral high ground with their false values of
freedom, openes, merit etc.

I thought Linux kernel was an international project. But in the end it is just an American project.
I guess Stallman is right again.
> Again, we're really sorry it's come to this, but all of the Linux
infrastructure and a lot of its maintainers are in the US and we can't
ignore the requirements of US law.
So the kernel running on my desktop is controlled by the US?

@torvalds I guess that's what you want. Well done!

Set up a new mastodon instance with @mastohost for 9 USD per month.
Not sure what I'm going to do with the new instance, but it's shockingly easy and relatively affordable to set up an instance with my own subdomain.
Let's see how long it last :)

Getting called "state-sponsored paid actors" by Linus Torvalds is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I am not going to waste lol https://lore.kernel.org/all/CAHk-=wjw0i-95S_3Wgk+rGu0TUs8r1jVyBv0L8qfsz+TJR8XTQ@mail.gmail.com/
Greg K-H 从 kernel 维护者列表中移除数位与俄罗斯相关的维护者。
lore.kernel.org/~

Of course, that commit will set a precedent for this matter, I don't think the impact is that significant. Many things can reveal some clues. Even if the precedent of politicizing open source software is set, some conscientious maintainers will oppose it, and those who have long wanted to do so, you can almost tell from their past actions and statements — after setting this precedent, they will definitely do so, they just hesitated before due to face-saving and not wanting to bear potential criticism.
When I was young, I thought knowledge was the most useful, but now I think the most useful things are conscience and rationality.

You have to let the bullet fly for a while.
A thought other than comments:
Although I usually suggest that people go fuck themselves if they don't like my code, that is something I clearly wrote in the Readme. Almost all of my recent projects, I will emphasize in the readme that I do not commit to any new feature development and maintenance.
But for Linus, all we get is "various compliance requirements". Then himself came out and started saying the history between Finland and Russia, that's revolting.

Translate of the chat:
Me: Why did zzz also attack ru?
Me: Are all maintainers of open source projects so stingy?
Friend: He (zzz) supports lgbt and opposes racial discrimination
Friend: The ideology is the opposite of most Russian developers
Friend: Probably supports Ukraine
Me: Oh
Me: Supporting lgbt is good
Me: Opposing racial discrimination is also good
Me: Supporting Ukraine is not wrong, after all, Russia invaded them first
Me: But these things cannot be imposed on individual developers
Me: It was not the ru developers who invaded Ukraine
Friend: orignal is more anarchic and free, it doesn't care about anything, just make an address book and submit it casually, as long as it is not abused
Friend: Yes
Me: Of course, if the developer publicly persecutes lgbt, discriminates against a specific race, and promotes that the Russian invasion is right, then he should be kicked out
Friend: It's about the same, anyway, the project should not be related to political ideology
Me: A project can have its own stance
Me: But you can't persecute others because of this stance
Me: Generally speaking, your community must have clear rules
Me: For example, what kind of behavior or speech is not allowed here
Me: But Linus said in general terms that it is because of various compliance requirements
Me: What compliance requirements
Me: It’s a fucking open source project, it doesn't need to compile with your fucking regulations
Friend: Yes
Friend: I’m dying of laughter
**I have a job now!**
I'm a Chinese shitizen, but I generally don't post in Chinese to avoid being suffering from other Chinese.
I'm physically a male, but I don't care how people think about my gender. I can be male, or female, or cat. But if you ask, I'd prefer to be referred to as male. Also, I support LGBT+ people, and I'm a copyleft. I don't think I'm too aggressive in arguing things, but sometimes I do. You should handle it with care.
I post about programming (most time is Java and Kotlin, unless I have a new love), and some random things I find interesting. I also post about my mental health, which is in a stable state of instability, thanks to my parents and Chinese society.
Anyway, if you want to follow me, I'm glad to see you. And, have a nice day.
