Speaking languages other than English helps when trying to find different ideas and points of view.

@deesapoetra I watched it for the second time last night. This time, not while drunk. OMG it's soooo good. I like how Priya obviously knows him from his future, her past, "you are fresh as a daisy". Next time(s) I will try to see the reverse-travelling people & objects from the opposite points of view, because I seriously reckon Christopher Nolan would have been a harsh taskmaster perfectionist behind the scenes with the CGI team - making sure every single detail was absolutely perfectly reproduced, running backwards.

If I ever get a Sex Robot, I want it to look and sound exactly like the Swedish Chef from The Muppets.

@deesapoetra I did not say that I understand it. Now slip back into your Suspension of Disbelief pyjamas and finish that goddam amazing movie!!

@deesapoetra

Ha!

Ok:
There was an ancient (probably Christian) magical amulet/talisman which no-one really knows what it meant:

SATOR
AREPO
TENET
OPERA
ROTAS

It reads the same up/down/left/right

All five words appear in the film. Watch for them.

Next:

Professor Richard Feynman in the 1960's for the Nobel Prize for Physics for his work on subatomic particles.
He realised that the antimatter particles of Positrons and Anti-Protons are in fact - seriously - mathematically exactly the same as electrons and Protons travelling BACKWARDS IN TIME.

@minimo

A very long time ago, I got my house broken into once. I confirmed to the Police and the insurance company that I had indeed locked my doors.

The police officer said "locks only keep honest people honest."

I've never forgotten that.

@deesapoetra

Fine, it's your choice not to trust me

but after you watch it you will ask me to remind you what the prerequisite enjoyment enhancement primer info was and I shall say "now thou must beg unto me"

@deesapoetra

Have you seen "Tenet"

I loved it and if you didn't love it, I want the chance to change your mind

Christopher Nolan makes good movies

@deesapoetra

This is why I think Dr Mann in Interstellar was not wrong. He was much, much smarter than everyone else, his rationalising was flawless.

He was not a coward, but his actions made him appear to be one, from the point of view of an outsider who hadn't done the same calculations that he did

I mean, he was not wrong, he was just an asshole.

@deesapoetra

Morals can be described and written down, yes. But a person can be moral without ever reading them

An immoral person can act in a moral way, and know that it is moral, without ever having been taught which is which.

Morality doesn't need to be intellectualised

If you need to stop and think about it, that's not morality

Real morals are instinctive

Real morals come from our genes

Morals can't come from a book

Morals can't be taught

@Diptchip

But, I have backed it up.

You're not a sucker for joining with someone in a discussion.

I haven't ever got the feeling that you were trying to convince me that I was wrong. Were you? I thought we were just stating each others' cases, knowing that the end result would be for us to agree to disagree, and then depart amicably.

I don't think this is the type of diametrically opposed viewpoint that can ever, ever be resolved by one person changing the other person's mind.

We are both right, from our own respective points of view.

@Diptchip

I haven't been trying to convince you.

I never hoped to change your mind.

I just wanted to state my case. Thanks for helping me crystallise it and refine it.
