@makdaam @mawhrin I wonder how the survey responses break down by age. I feel like these kind of spectacular failures may be known generationally, but not broadly.

For example, how widely known among younger engineers is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapse?

@michaelgemar @makdaam @mawhrin we watched video of the collapse in our first year of physics at university. I don't think it was particularly related to the class, but the massive bridge going wobbly was fascinating, and perhaps seen as a general motivation for studying science.
Computer science / software engineering classes were devoid of history as far as I can remember.
