It's been an unusual few days. I gave a TEDx talk which should be public in a few weeks.
I am now on a night Flixbus from Brussels to Basel. AMA [now closed], but I only really know about solar power, geese, and a little bit of old science fiction.
Also I may not answer if I've fallen asleep, I am speaking on a webinar on solar in Pakistan tomorrow morning after arriving in Basel at 4:30am.
Did I make it home? Yes. Am I any use at all today after a night travelling by Flixbus? No, but pretty sure nobody's noticed.
It's actually really not that bad. Big seats, quiet, the motorway rushing by is quite soothing. We did get stopped by police for passport checks around Luxembourg. And I picked up croissants for my family on the way through Olten.
Also, the ticket cost 30 euros.
@solar_chase You have to carry your passport on your way by Luxembourg?
@solar_chase @dcporter I'm swiss (i.e. non-eu) and when traveling in the EU I always only take my national ID card, which I have to carry anyway (or a driver's license if I had one). That's always been the case as far as I remember, also traveling to France as a kid with my family. I only got a passport as an adult, the first time I traveled overseas.
Switzerland is now part of the Schengen area, but only since 2008, so not sure how it worked back then.
