GitHub added a permanent free tier for GitHub Copilot today, including access to both GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet. My notes here: simonwillison.net/2024/Dec/18/

@simon my team at MIT has had the pro/enterprise version of copilot enabled for a while and while I saw the announcement, I don’t yet see settings to link it up with ChatGPT or Claude.

I get a lot out of it as it is, but mostly in the capacity of being a hyper intelligent auto complete that I have presented as another option aside, my editor is LSP.

@feoh I found the option here next to the chat input - might need to enable Claude 3.5 Sonnet on this settings page first though github.com/settings/copilot

@simon @feoh in enterprise/ business accounts, an admin needs to enable it for the org first.
