@spiralganglion @spoltier real ones know that vector gender doesn't exist. "direction i want to go" means you've already gone
@spoltier @TodePond something like this
there's a "how far" vs "how fast" thing that's not captured here that I think is crucial
but i'm just posting, not actually designing, so idfk
(also, the fact that they're asking at all strikes me as idiotic, but i'm ignoring that entirely because it's more fun to play that way)
(also, i bet for many people the cultural references to "masc" and "fem" wouldn't convey the right meaning — again, just posting, not actually designing)
@spiralganglion @spoltier none of these things are gender
@spiralganglion@mastodon.social @spoltier
@spiralganglion@merveilles.town
tying a person's expression to their identity is harmful (to more people than just that one person)
clothes don't have gender
hair doesn't have gender
gait doesn't have gender
that's some fucked up stereotyping
of course a gender clinic should be asking what you're gender is!!!!!!!
most online forms can be
pick one
[ ] man
[ ] woman
[ ] non-binary
[ ] custom: _____
but when you need more detailed answer (eg: because you're a gender clinic) you should do
tick all that apply
[ ] man
[ ] woman
[ ] non-binary
[ ] genderfluid
[ ] agender
[ ] transgender
[ ] etc...
[ ] custom: ______
note that the terms "man" and "woman" are now used
note how "transgender woman" is not different from "woman"
those were the things that were wrong. not that people are asked for their gender identity full stop
it's not so complicated
i am non-binary and genderfluid.
@spoltier @TodePond Yes! And you should be able to draw these todos as vectors, like "here's a direction I'd like to go, and I do know how fast, but I don't know how far" or whatever.
