The Supreme Court refused to review a case in which a man was sent to jail for murdering his wife on the basis of testimony from a forensic expert who said the man was guilty because two bite marks on her body matched his teeth. Now, the forensic expert has recanted his testimony, yet the SCOTUS won't hear the case. The Supreme Court is not a legitimate institution if they refuse to exonerate. A vote for #Biden is a vote to appoint judges who will consider facts. apr.org/news/2024-07-02/suprem

Meanwhile, in #Gaza: "Pushing hundreds of thousands more people into what is essentially a death trap, devoid of any facilities, is barbaric and a breach of International Humanitarian Law," said Sally Abi Khalil, Oxfam's Middle East director. commondreams.org/news/khan-you

In #Alabama, prisoners are being coerced into labor for multinational corporations, which is a form of involuntary servitude. Now, the state is defending these practices. Does this surprise anyone when Republicans are in charge? alabamareflector.com/briefs/al

One of the things the colonists complained about in the Declaration of Independence is that the King paid judges

Can't make this shit up

Please pass it on to everyone you see, everywhere you see them. And urge them to do the same. We’re running out of time.

Further clarification: There are three distinct questions here.

1. Does there exist some candidate who could do better than Biden if they were •already• the Dem nominee?
2. Would switching candidates midstream •now• help the situation? Even be logistically feasible?
3. Should we trust the forces that have pushed item 2 to the top of the news, even above the SCOTUS going full Trump-can-be-a-dictator?

The answers are:

1. Probably.
2. Highly unlikely.
3. Certainly not.

Love Biden or loathe him, it’s important to recognize the political ratfuckery going on: this whole “Biden dropping out” thing is being astroturfed. It’s a pitch that targets the left and is appealing to the left — but it is not coming from the left.

Before jumping on that bandwagon, take a moment to ask who’s steering it. Because it’s not you.

The democrat reps calling for Joe Biden to be replaced might as well be wearing MAGA hats

The election is in 4 MONTHS. That will go by fast. Be realistic. That is way too short a timeframe for anyone to be able to catch up

PLEASE. I'm begging you all. Please understand that you're not voting for #Biden or #Trump this election like last time. After the #SCOTUS #immunity decision, you are literally voting for freedom or authoritarianism. That horrifying decision fundementally changed EVERYTHING

@skykiss It's not even just "but her emails," it's literally _exactly the same thing they tried against Clinton_:

mastodon.social/@GottaLaff/112

Stop with the replacement shit.

It's an op.

But her emails, is now replace him.

See how easy you are controlled.

You are a useful idiot.

Damn the op is easy. Look at all the help from democrats.

You've seen this before.

Do not be part of the op.

""I wonder how long it will take before Americans wake up to the brutal reality that the US Supreme Court has staged a coup, brazenly seizing power from the other two branches in a way that is utterly contrary to the framers vision of the role of a court and a judiciary,""

@w7voa

...even as some members of Donald Trump's clan, wearing their finest Lederhosen, expressed wonder at how Trump Sr could eat so many McBurgers and still talk and walk, while others, unlikely to benefit from his will, expressed wonderment at how many lies he could mumble in so short a time, without repercussions from the moderators.

@w7voa NYT is doing its rubles earning job, don't see a point to amplify it

@drahardja @w7voa This a thousand times. The NYT has been anti-Biden this entire election cycle. What do they post after the debate? "Dems in chaos about who they should replace Biden with." Nothing about the Gish gallop that Trump was doing. Straight outta Project 2025

@jaykuo I think it is time for the New York Times to declare that they are part of the Trump campaign.
