Enough already! So tired of these stories about Dem voters wanting a younger candidate. The reality check:
“Any discussion of an alternative is little more than a fantasy, they say, since challenging Mr. Biden would not only appear disloyal but would also most likely fail — and potentially weaken the president’s general-election standing.”

“Top Democrats’ Bullishness on Biden 2024 Collides With Voters’ Worries
Party leaders have rallied behind the president’s re-election bid, but as one top Democratic strategist put it, “The voters don’t want this, and that’s in poll after poll after poll.”
Omigod, NYT. Where’s the story about how a delusional, fascistic, dissembling crook and rapist is the probable GOP nominee?

Please, NYTPitchBot. Leave E**n’s shithole and come to the bright side. We need you here.
I find it fascinating that the sorts of intellectual elites who used to talk about how terrible Facebook is for democracy over content moderation policies and how they’d never use it again are on Twitter/X day in & day out where far more deplorable things happen every day.
On the heels of strikes leading to pilots & UPS workers winning significant pay raises and WGA/SAG still on strike to do the same, for the first time in 88 years, auto workers across all big 3 US automakers are on strike.
Their demands include a 40% pay raise, 4 day work weeks and the return of pensions.
The trend of workers fighting back after decades of shareholders eating first is accelerating.
As Florida reports more new #COVID19 hospitalizations than any other state, #GOP sociopath #RonDeSantis demands more sickness and death as surely as if he wrapped his cold, creepy hands around the throats of his constituents and started squeezing. https://wapo.st/3LltbuZ

Workers: DO NOT OVERWORK YOURSELF to avoid getting laid off.
- You’re damaging your life and health.
- Your employer doesn’t actually notice (no, really, they don’t.)
- Your behavior enables future mismanagement of resources.
- When layoffs come, you’re gonna get laid off anyway.
Remember that a company’s job is to extract maximum work from you for minimum pay, so your job is to extract maximum pay for minimum work. Somewhere in the middle, both parties find an equilibrium that they agree on. Do not voluntarily modify your side of the bargain to your detriment.
Why is everyone talking about the fediverse? Mashable's Christianna Silva explains the reason behind Meta's interest, the future of social media and how that will change the way online creators reach their audiences.
#mtbos anybody remember how to find the nifty @geogebra animation of the positive/negative number line showing it as a mirror image by radiating the number line 'round?
How “the richest man in the world who holds a commanding position in near-earth-orbit space delivery, electronic cars and global communications spent the weekend churning up hate against Jews as the source of his financial losses.”

Your Twitter/X account is a microphone connected to a mixer controlled by a fascist. You can speak all you want. The fascist controls your volume and can mute you whenever he wants. And you might not even know you’ve been muted because you can still hear yourself in your headphones.
It’s not called resistance when your volume knob is in someone else’s hand.
It's appalling that journalists and their news organizations never stand back in self-reflection to ask why the public is ill-informed on a topic when it is the supposed job of news to inform them. Why is the public ill-informed about the economy? It ain't Biden's fault, folks.
Framing authority George Lakoff @georgelakoff yesterday quoted the brilliant Eric Blair's @protecttruth article:
Twitter is being used by a billionaire to shift public opinion. Time to go elsewhere >>> https://deepnarrative.substack.com/p/twitter-is-being-used-by-a-billionaire
"Twitter is now a danger to American democracy. The only effective solution now is to move to new platforms. There are other social media platforms... we can build them up to support honest debate and provide some replacements to Twitter."
I’ve been extremely disappointed but not surprised that so many brands continue to spend money advertising on a site that then pays a portion of that money out to anti-semites, hate mongers and accused sex traffickers like Andrew Tate.
Apple who is glad to take a moral stand against ads is now happy to literally put money in the pockets of virulent anti-semites to sell products. So much for those high ethical standards around human rights, I guess.

The work day after a teach-in opposing arming campus #police, the GW provost tells professors to speak only through official channels. A year ago, he defended employing Justice Thomas as an adjunct because "we steadfastly support the robust exchange of ideas.” But he would like #faculty opponents of putting more guns on campus to kindly keep quiet unless we’re asked to speak. #teaching
BIG WIN: New York's Governor Kathy Hochul just announced they will be sending free N95/KN95 masks and #COVID tests to schools.
