I give it a few months before the blatantly racist, fascist posts get it kicked out of both app stores.

They aren't a charity, they are a business and so will put money first. It's why they will be coming into the apple store in the first place.
Pretend to be a free speech alternative, but probably end up with similar moderation as all the other mainstream social media apps.
@geotechland @swiley don't forget, that Parler too was a business, not a charity. They went down in flames after being de-platformed due to poor moderation.
Nothing about Trump suggests to me that his business will do better, especially, when the supposed selling point is that they'll allow "the truth" (read: a conspiracy theory deluded version of the truth)

Meh. There are plenty of mastodon instances that are really terrible and they manage to stay up. Unless they do an exceptionally poor job I think they'll be ok.

maybe but it's not like it's that hard to find hosting. If the pirate bay and 8kun can stay up then so can a mastodon instance owned by one of the more wealthy Americans.
The deplatforming made things hard for Parlor but they were run by idiots, if it weren't for that something else would have certainly gotten them. @geotechland
@swiley They don't have a former president's notoriety shining a giant spotlight on their poor moderation though. Fair or not, Truth Social is going to be more scrutinized than random masto instance #14,546.
