personally i think everyone who cares about fedi should have a policy of complete non-cooperation with birdsite and their bluesky op, just ignore them and don't answer their emails and treat it all as a circus for us all to laugh at when they inevitably fall on their faces. they have nothing to offer to anyone who doesn't want to sell out, afaict, and certainly nothing to offer to fedi users, many of whom came here to get away from twittards in the first place.

even leaving aside all how socially and politically toxic they are, i strongly doubt birdsite's cooperation is valuable even from a purely technical perspective; i used to date a degenerate sack of shit who worked at twitter and it's a mess there, they're really just shambling along with their asses out, shitting tangled gobs of python everywhere they go and wondering why it doesn't "scale"
