@watson @swiley and people are just gonna keep voting for worse and worse because they are good little fear slaves.

wasn't it huxley who was like "they're going to come to enjoy their servitude"?

idk if it's just voting. Voting didn't save us here. What saved us was the constitution and justice system and likely at least to some degree the gun owners.

@swiley @watson there was something i saw recently that talked about the health policy has followed the voting habits of fear enjoyers more than it has scientific inquiry.

ex. people in australia largely vote in polls that they love being economically assassinated and having no rights.
@swiley @watson originally the cdc recommendation for masks was just if you're in an area that can't have social distancing, only for enclosed spaces and such.

this became some weird hysteria that you're supposed to wear them 24/7 "even during sex" when that wasn't backed by anything.

viva talked about this in canada too where the health minister literally said something like "there is no evidence lockdowns work. regardless, i'm announcing a lockdown." he went to talk to people and they were cowing in fear with him not wearing a mask (while outside, six feet apart, as was the actual health policy ...)
