There are currently 2,852,395 refugees from Ukraine living in Russia according to the UN Refugee Agency, this is more Ukrainian refugees than any other country have accepted.

Let that sink in for a while...

@modrobert I'm not sure people who have been moved by force can be called refugees.

@szescstopni Then it's not a "refugee" by definition, and would not be part of this data:

@modrobert "Statistics are compiled mainly from data provided by authorities" is what worries me.

@szescstopni UN uses inspections for their data, unlike mainstream media. Also, it would not make sense to pay the refugees if they were prisoners of war: "Over $71 mln paid to refugees from Ukraine and Donbass in Russia" tass.com/politics/1476695

@szescstopni Roughly 30% of the population in Ukraine are native Russian speakers, so it makes sense to me if they go to Russia as refugees.

@modrobert Native Russian speaker's doesn't mean they're Russians. Also, please don't quote tass. They are the voice of the Russian regime, not independent media.

@szescstopni If over 2 million people from Ukraine were prisoners of war, what would be the reason to move them from Ukraine to Russia? They already control the regions in question; Donbass and Donetsk, if they wanted prisoners of war just let them stay there then.
