@Sheril I remember my father flying with a box full of Acomys cahirinus, but that was decades ago. I'm sure there is a lot of great weird stories of scientists transporting their research subjects.
@szescstopni@Sheril My favourite came from a colleague who transported a little homemade measuring device that had a sample holder, some gauge or another, a couple of wires and four legs fashioned from random a scrap metal pipe.
... which, he discovered, when viewed in an X-ray scanner looked *exactly* like a cartoonish bomb with a clock 💣🧨
