The tech industry wants me to hand over so many decisions and management to some AI/automated system but yet they still can’t accurately estimate time remaining on a finite, well-bounded task like transferring files.

Why, yes, I am one hour into a “12-minute” task that keeps adding more time remaining every time I check. And it now says 36 minutes remaining. Which it has said for ~30 minutes. 😭

I would not have started this today, had I known how long. Now I’m stuck waiting. 😒
