hunting is much more fun when you pretend you managed to run on a real forest.

Improperly carried pocket knives are the leading cause of death *during* mushroom hunts in Poland. Poor knowledge of taxonomy is the leading cause of death *after* mushroom hunts.

@rmattila74 I've seen similar in Poland, but instead of a brush they had a beer bottle opener. I'll stick to my old Swiss army knife, although it does not have a brush.

@szescstopni if we can fatally stab ourselves with this tiny knife, perhaps our time has come!

@deepmud If you trip over you don't need a big knife to cut your femoral artery. A sharp branch will do almost as well.

@szescstopni I'm sure you're correct, but the femoral artery isn't a big target. More likely you stab yourself in the thigh and limp away to claim you were attacked by a random squirrel.

@deepmud A few cases di happen in my area over the past years. Still, the biggest real danger is getting lost. Or finding unexploded ordnance.

@szescstopni yes! Getting lost is serious. So is unexploded ordinance, although on the west coast of North America this isn't really an issue. But then again, you *can* be shot by a hunter.

I generally avoid hunting season. And I only deploy my knife when I'm ready to use it. 😃
