Another laptop arrived, to replace the one I'm using right now, and now I wonder – Ubuntu? Debian? Mint?
@wnm210 oj tam, ważne że na arch-based :)
@slavistapl nie znam takiej sytuacji @wnm210
@szescstopni Of these three, Mint is probably the best choice.
@LukaszHorodecki It's been running for years on our kitchen computer. Maybe it's time to give it a run on some real stuff.
@szescstopni what purpose are you using it for?
@munin Browsing, LibreOfficeing, Pythoning.
@szescstopni popos is reasonably ok and low maintenance reqs
@munin I see it's Ubuntu based. Does that mean it will go south if Ubuntu does?
@szescstopni .....was not aware ubuntu was in danger of doing so?
@munin Isn't it going IPO?
@szescstopni We hadn't heard anything and....all the news we're seeing says it was planning it in 2023 so lol
@munin Thanks. I might give Pop! OS a try though :)
@munin Pop! OS it is. I stuck the disk encryption password on the underside. Hope I'm doing this right :)
@szescstopni lol have fun with it
@szescstopni Ubuntu is always my go to. Every time someone gets an upgraded device, Ubuntu goes on the discard. Kid just started dual booting with Windows, he'd seen Ubuntu so often and wanted to experiment without VirtualBox. I always found it more visually appealing or of the box than Debian.
@davidpwhelan I don't care much about visual appeal – rather robustness in case of anything – including the chance of the distribution getting enshittified.
I don't need likes. I need advice.
