I'm pleased to see the Reddit influx into Lemmy and KBin is leading to the building of many new villages in the verse, rather than just making a train station of the open space visible via the micro-posting apps (Mastodon etc). This is putting a spotlight on the limited support for federated groups in the verse. Maybe this will prompt devs to prioritize work on interop between groups/forums using different apps (Friendica, Lemmy, KBin, Discourse etc)? This could lead to exodus from FB groups : )

Add the lack of and it appears that the alternative to the emperor-with-no-clothes is not wearing much either.

I shouldn't be complaining, "we" atleast have this much. But it isn't clear that one client can integrate , , , and ... which makes all of them being based on a technical detail. Lemmy allowing log-in via any AP account might go a long way.

We can already interact with Lemmy, KBin and Friendica groups using a Mastodon account. The UX could use work, but proper group support is coming.

This is totally doable. All the AP app devs just need to implement the Client-to-Server part of the spec, instead of only supporting the Mastodon API as a de facto standard.
