The story of biomass is one more sorry example in the horrific Green Transition. In the UK, there is a power station that emits 12 million tons of CO2 a year burning trees from old growth forests in Canada. The UK government gives billions in subsidies to this power station. Why? Because burning wood is classified as “renewable” and thus the 12 million tons of CO2 caused every year officially doesn’t exist.

Biomass: worse than coal

"Biomass is a reliable, flexible renewable power source which is available regardless of what the weather does. It therefore has a vital role to play in the energy system, displacing coal."

"Biomass is actually even more polluting than coal. "Burning wood for energy produces at least as much carbon dioxide as burning coal per unit of energy produced and usually more."

@gerrymcgovern if you are burning something for energy… you are killing us, yourself and the planet imo

I suspect they expect to only kill the planet by the end of their lifetimes. They probably don't have kids, or can afford to get them off-planet when the time comes.
