@tetrislife @janl You can have a bazillion LeetCode score but be a terrible developer. On the flipside, you can be a total n00b to a new codebase and still be a good shepherd of it. It's about teamwork, humility, and sustainability, not generating lines of code.
@tetrislife @janl In software development, learning a language is the easiest part. The hard parts are understanding what that code achieves for the product, and building on top of it sustainably. How will future devs will work with the code you write?
LLMs lack the important bits. They nail the easy bits (producing code on a micro scale), which fools us, like a parlor trick, into believing they know what they're doing (building sustainably on a macro scale).
