what signals healthy diversity to you?

At work we’re thinking about various steps to increase diversity. Some parts of the company are already pretty diverse, others like tech-areas less so.

If you’re a less well represented person in tech, what are the things that you look for in a healthy working environment, what would you like to see more of?

@szbalint for me, diversity should not be the goal, but it should be the natural result of a non-discriminatory hiring policy

@InternetKevin people have implicit biases and an uneven playing field.
I would like to live in a society without these, but in the meantime I think hiring and organization has to compensate

@szbalint one easy thing that organisations can do is redact applicant names up until an interview is offered. There have been some studies showing the same CV with a different name has a lower chance of getting an interview.

@InternetKevin
That's certainly useful on the employer side of things, but considering the context of the original post, the question in this case is about what to do to make more kinds of people want to work somewhere. It takes two sides to have an employment agreement.
