i wish people who bitch about the way the trans community tries to recruit kids would learn the difference between HRT and puberty blockers

puberty blockers aren't going to "permanently change your body." they neither feminize nor masculinize you. they just delay an irreversible process to give you more time to figure your shit out, and you can always stop them and go through puberty later if you go through therapy and conclude you're cis (as most people will). the main risk is osteoporosis if you stay on them too long.

pushing young kids onto HRT without extensive psychological evaluation is horrifying and as a culture we are going to be paying the price for this absolutely monstrous, perverse behavior for decades to come. but gender dysphoria routinely pushes innocent people to suicide. it is reasonable to take protective measures to spare yourself the latter if there's a real chance you might have it. we should not let the backlash against SJW overreach and the rank degeneracy of the trans community erode the real medical progress that has been made in recent decades, because it has the capacity WHEN USED CORRECTLY AND RESPONSIBLY to dramatically improve lives.

@velartrill
Wait, young children get put on HRT? All the cases I saw of people claiming that happens turned out to be the confusion about puberty blockers you mention, but I might have missed some real cases.

@timorl there have been some horrifying cases in britain. i think it's mostly confusion about puberty blockers tho
