There are two available copy/paste buffers in Linux.

The first one is broadly known: Ctrl+C/Crtl+V. The second one is a bit different:

Every time you select a text, that selection is stored in a separated buffer. Using the mouse wheel click you can paste the selected text. When using a laptop, you can paste by clicking the right and left buttons simultaneously.

It is a good idea to combine this two buffers to improve your efficiency.

@crypted That's only mostly correct, there are actually *three* buffers, but almost no one uses the third one. I only learned this by apparently stumbling upon the only piece of software that uses it by default.

I don't think there is a convenient way of using the third one anyway, so this correction is a curiosity rather than a tip.
