Team Navalny has reinvigorated its global campaign to secure Alexey’s release. I assume they’ve talked it over with him, but does Navalny actually want to be released in what would be some swap with the U.S. or an act of benevolence by Putin? https://free.navalny.com/
Of course, it makes all the sense in the world that any man would want to escape torture in prison and be reunited with his family. As a political leader and martyr, though, wasn’t the whole point to avoid becoming an emigre? (All that said, I hope Navalny is released soon.)

Maybe he's given up?
@kevinrothrock
Yeah, but after seeing examples of Ukrainians arguing Navalny is worse than Putin I find it hard to have a more positive attitude about his project these days.
The war has certainly devalued the moral weight the West assigns to being a political prisoner, so I'm unsure if anyone in power is even willing to pay for him.
@tobychev He's a Russian politician, not a Ukrainian politician. Ukrainians are welcome to think whatever they like about him, but they're not his constituency.
